Norwegian CEO Bjorn Kjos believes Ryanair would not be able to compete on trans-Atlantic routes between Ireland and the US east coast for several years, saying: “If they decided today, they wouldn’t be able to start until at least 2020.“ Mr Kjos believes US airports are running out of slots and need to construct more runways before any other carrier could operate on those routes.
Ryanair’s passenger numbers up 12 per cent in June
Ryanair has reported a 12 per cent increase in passenger numbers for the month of June, while its load factor also rose during the month.
