The minimum requirements for type rated First Officer:

  • Current and valid ICAO ATPL
  • Total flight hours: 1500
  • Minimum 500 hours multiengine multi-crew time
  • Minimum 500 hours on type and position
  • Maximum 45 years
  • ICAO English level 4
  • Must possess a valid and current class 1 medical
  • Must have flown the type within the last six (6) months and have a current LPC/OPC

Requirements for First Officers (type rated and experienced on any of the following types: Boeing 767/757, Airbus A320/321, Embraer 190)

  • Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship
  • Current and valid Kazakhstan ICAO ATPL
  • If not JAR-FCL ATPL modular programme qualified:
    i. Minimum of 1500 hours total time
    ii. Minimum of 500 hours multi-engine, multi-crew time
    iii. Minimum of 500 hours on type and position
  • If JAR-FCL ATPL modular programme qualified:
    i. Minimum of 1500 hours total time
    ii. Minimum of 500 hours multi-engine, multi-crew time
    iii. Minimum of 500 hours on type and position
  • Maximum of 45 years of age
  • ICAO English level 4
  • Must be qualified for international flights
  • Must possess a valid and current class 1 medical
  • Must have flown within the last three months on the type and have a current LPC/OPC
  • No criminal records and no security restrictions
  • Good character and good conduct
  • Must pass the Air Astana internal evaluation programme.

The minimum requirements for Non type rated First officers:

  • As above
  • Total Flight hours 1000
  • Minimum of 500 on multi engine multi crew aircraft>5.7 T
  • Maximum 45 years
