PREAMBLE

In readiness for Aurigny resuming its full service later this year, we are seeking to appoint an experienced training Captain for the Dornier fleet.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Aurigny Air are recruiting an experienced senior training Captain for the Dornier fleet based in Guernsey.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications and suitable experience:

  • ATPL
  • CRE with IR Privileges
  • CRI with IR Privileges
  • SFE
  • Line Training Captain
  • Commercial Captain in Multi Crew environment
  • A Dornier type rating would be desirable but not essential.
  • The role will be Guernsey based, ideally with the candidate to be local.

The details of the roles are as follows:  

  • CLASS RATING EXAMINER – CRE
  • SYNTHETIC FLIGHT EXAMINER – SFE
  • Class Rating Instructor – CRI (A)

Line Training Captain

  • Are responsible to the Training Manager, in their capacity as Authorised Examiners, acting on behalf of the Civil Aviation Authority, for carrying out Training, Skill and Proficiency Checks, according to the syllabi set out in this Manual.
  • Are responsible to the Training Manager in their capacity as Authorised Examiners, acting on behalf of the Civil Aviation Authority, for carrying out Aeroplane Rating Revalidation or Renewal Tests.
  • Are responsible to the Training Manager for conducting initial Type Rating Flight Tests for the purpose of inclusion of an Aeroplane Type Rating on a Pilot’s licence.
  • Upon successful completion of such a test they will complete and sign Form LST MPA.
  • Are responsible for ensuring that during training, a high standard of competency is achieved in all exercises, and in the event of a Candidate appearing unlikely to meet these standards, will consult with the Training Manager and the Flight Operations Director regarding the desirability, or otherwise, of further training.
  • Upon completion of any training or testing, they will complete the appropriate Company Training Record Forms.
  • Upon satisfactory completion of a test, they will complete the appropriate form LPC MPA, sign the examinees licence, and inform the Training Manager and Operations Department so that records can be amended.
  • In the event of an examinee failing a test, they will make their recommendations to the Training Manager regarding any further training which may be considered necessary, and complete the relevant section of Form LST / LPC MPA, and complete the relevant company and authority paperwork in accordance with the instructions in Standards Document 24.
