Who are we looking for?

In view of the current market conditions, KLM is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:

  • General Minimum HAVO diploma with the package English, mathematics and physics or equivalence in case of a foreign study program.
  • Passport of an EU Member State.
  • Length between 1.575 and 2.03 meters. There is no leg length measurement.
  • Good knowledge of the Dutch language. If you are not speaking Dutch, you must take an exam on the European Reference Framework B2 level prior to the selection procedure.
  • Trained in UPRT (Upset Prevention & Recovery Training)
  • Certificates / certificates: Class I medical * (Frozen) ATPL * LPE6 Valid Type Rating of a Multi-Pilot Aircraft (jet) Radiotelephony authority (RT) Completed Multi Crew Course *
  • Both Medical and Flight Crew License must be issued in the Netherlands or converted for a possible assumption.
  • Experience Graduated from one of the following flight training courses: KLS, NLS, CAE (Oxford), EPST, Martinair Flight Academy or in possession of a Great Military Brevet of the Royal Netherlands Air Force / Navy.
  • In addition, at least 500 hours of experience on a heavy twin fixed wing (5.700 kg or more). A minimum of 150 hours of this has been flown in commercial aviation in the 12 months prior to this application.

What do we offer?

Salary €2400 – €5500  

As a KLM pilot you work with a modern fleet, where you have the opportunity to fly both short and long distances throughout your career.

The employment at KLM takes place under the collective agreement for pilots on airplanes, in which a Vlieger Loopbaan scheme has been laid down. All starting functions are as second officers on the B747, B777 or A330.

At KLM Flight Operations it is also possible to be active next to flying as an additional officer, including as an instructor.

  • A valid USA visa.  
  • An assessment is part of the selection procedure. A capacity test is part of the selection procedure.
