The two-year course is run at Alitalia’s Flight Training Academy; for some stages of the course, Alitalia works with Etihad in the United Arab Emirates.
The first part of Alitalia’s Cadet Pilot Program is devoted to learning theory in the classroom and practical flying instruction at the Etihad Flight College in Al Ain, an hour’s drive from Abu Dhabi.
Cadet Pilots take part in the second part of the course with a team of pilot instructors at Alitalia’s Training Academy in Fiumicino, a center of excellence for training flight crew that boasts 7 flight simulators.
Participants who complete the course successfully will earn their multi-crew pilot license (MPL) and will then be employed as pilots for CityLiner, Alitalia’s regional airline, which has a fleet of 20 aircraft (5 Embraer 190 and 15 Embraer 175).
- Age: between 18 and 25 years old
- Upper secondary school qualification or degree
- Excellent health
- Excellent knowledge of English (Min. Level B2 CEF or equivalent) and Italian
