Dash 8 First Officers – Broome, Perth and Darwin

We are seeking expressions of interest from pilots who are passionate about flying for Dash-8 First Officer positions at our bases in Broome and Darwin.

Cobham Special Mission provides aerial surveillance services under contract to the Australian Border Force. As the largest civil maritime surveillance operation of its kind in the world, Cobham operates 10 De Havilland Dash-8 aircraft from bases in Cairns, Darwin, and Broome. Working in a highly dynamic environment, you will be part of a team that patrols Australian waters, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This vital role attracts a generous remuneration package and can provide fantastic job satisfaction.

Experience and Qualification Requirements

Essential

  • Australian Citizenship and hold or be eligible to hold an Australian passport
  • Hold or be eligible for an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC), Australian Government Security Clearance and Employment Suitability Check
  • Hold or be eligible for a CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical
  • Hold an Australian Instrument Rating – Multi Engine Aeroplane with 2D and 3D endorsements
  • Hold an Australian CPL
  • Hold a pass in the Human Factors ATPL subject (AHUF)
  • Minimum 1000 hours total flying experience
  • Minimum 200 hours pilot in command

Desirable

  • Currently employed as an IFR pilot with one or more Instrument Proficiency Checks
  • 200 hours multi-engine command
  • Turbine experience
  • Instructional experience

In addition:

  • Type rating training will attract a Bond

Dash 8 Captains – Broome & Perth

Experience and Qualification Requirements

Essential

  • Australian Citizenship and hold or be eligible to hold an Australian passport
  • Hold or be eligible for an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC), Australian Government Security Clearance and Employment Suitability Check
  • Hold or be eligible for a CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical
  • Hold an Australian Instrument Rating – Multi Engine Aeroplane with 2D and 3D endorsements
  • Hold an Australian ATPL
  • Minimum 2000 hours total flying experience
  • 500 hours pilot in command
  • 500 hours turbine experience
  • Multi-crew experience
  • Multi engine turbine command experience

Desirable

  • 500 hours pilot in command on medium/heavy multi engine turbine command experience
  • 100 hours pilot in command in multi-crew operations
  • 100 hours night command
  • 300 hours flight time in previous 12 months on turbo prop aircraft
  • Maritime surveillance and/or search and rescue experience
  • DHC-8 type rating

In addition:

  • Type rating training will attract a Bond

First Officer – CL604 – Perth

Cobham Search and Rescue (SAR) Services, working under a long-term contract with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority is looking for First Officers who are passionate about making a difference. Our pilots fly in a unique and challenging environment, with a key humanitarian focus aimed at assisting people in potentially traumatic and life-threatening situations. As a First Officer with the SAR team you will provide essential support to your entire crew working diligently, quickly and professionally to ensure each mission is a success. You will operate a highly modified CL604 aircraft and will be part of a highly skilled team. You will be based in Perth, Essendon or Cairns.

Cobham Search and Rescue (SAR) Services, working under a long-term contract with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority is looking for First Officers who are passionate about making a difference. Our pilots fly in a unique and challenging environment, with a key humanitarian focus aimed at assisting people in potentially traumatic and life-threatening situations. As a First Officer with the SAR team you will provide essential support to your entire crew working diligently, quickly and professionally to ensure each mission is a success. You will operate a highly modified CL604 aircraft and will be part of a highly skilled team. You will be based in Perth.

Essential

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Australian Passport or Passport from a country without travel restrictions
  • Australian CPL(A) and Instrument Rating
  • CASA Class 1 Medical
  • Theory credit for ATPL Human Factors (AHUF)
  • Be eligible for an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC)
  • 1000 hours total flight time
  • 250 hours command

Desirable

  • Currently employed as an IFR pilot with one or more Instrument Proficiency Checks
  • Type rated on multi-crew aircraft
  • Multi-crew experience

In addition:

  • You must commit to being within 30 minutes of your assigned airport when on night standby
  • Type rating training will attract a Bond
