Moray Flying Club is a military club and CAA Declared Training Organisation based at RAF Lossiemouth. They are seeking a motivated individual to join our professional team of Flying Instructors to provide cost-effective flying to personnel from the Tri-Services. We operate a Club owned fleet of Cessna 152 and 172 aircraft and offer tuition for the UK Part-FCL Private Pilot’s licence (PPL), Light Aircraft Pilots licence (LAPL) as well as Night and IMC/IR Restricted Ratings.

Ideally, this will be a full-time position, however we may consider a suitable part-time arrangement. The post will require weekend working on a mutually agreed basis. The successful candidate will be required to complete a military vetting process to allow entry to an operational airbase. Remuneration is dependent on experience/qualifications.

Principal Duties

  • Train ab initio students to respective syllabus
  • Assess student ability and authorise solo flights
  • Train licence holders towards additional ratings (Night/IR(R))
  • Provide ground school as required
  • Provide supervision to Restricted FI’s
  • Authorise Club Member flights in accordance with Ops Manual
  • Conduct Club Member currency and annual checks
  • Carry out general aircraft preparation
  • Carry out relevant administrative tasks

Post Holder

  • Qualified UK CAA PPL Flight Instructor
  • Current UK CAA Medical Certificate
  • Qualified to teach night and/pr IR(R) is desirable
  • FI(R) would be considered
