First Officers

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ravn Alaska First Officer safely operates Company aircraft according to regulations, as well as established policies and procedures.  The First Officer reports to the Chief Pilot and is accountable to the Pilot in Command (PIC) for flight-specific duties.  This position is expected to uphold safety while performing flight crew duties and fulfilling the responsibilities expected of a Ravn Alaska employee.  Other responsibilities aligned with Ravn Alaska Core Values include but are not limited to:

  • Upholding safety by ensuring all work is accomplished in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and the Company’s manuals.
  • Maintaining strong a strong safety mindset through clear and timely communication with all appropriate points of contact involved in flight operations, including alerting the flight’s PIC of any actual or suspected deviation from regulations or company procedures.
  • Assuming responsibility for tasks at outstations, when appropriately trained, to include fueling, bag handling, cargo handling, and deicing, because of our commitment to a successful team effort.
  • Promoting commitment by engaging in courteous and respectful interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates.
  • Cultivating integrity by calmly and professionally handling stressful situations that may arise, relying on training techniques and tools to manage each scenario as appropriate.
  • Acting with integrity when following established regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure personal fitness is satisfactory and compliant and that duties will not be impeded.
  • Promoting connectedness by participating in company and department initiatives to provide the highest level of customer service to passengers and seeking out ways to provide a consistently positive flying experience for community members.
  • Demonstrating reliability by completing all necessary documentation thoroughly and with care, filing paperwork with the appropriate department(s) as outlined in company policies, ensuring team members have the information needed to perform their duties accordingly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate has excellent customer service skills and team member qualities, in addition to the required certifications and experience the position requires.  They must also be willing to live and work within one hour of the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.  Other qualifications include:

  • Must possess High School Diploma/GED.
  • Must meet the applicable Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) minimums as specified in 14 CFR Part 61 for either an ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP).
  • Must have a valid First Class Medical.
  • Must not have a record of any FAA ‘Certificate Action’ or ‘Administrative Action’ within the prior 24 months.
  • Must have a valid US Passport and be able to travel in and out of the US, including to Canada.
  • Must be located in Anchorage, Alaska or be willing to relocate within 30 days if not already residing within one (1) hour of Anchorage.
  • Must be fluent in English, and able to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the position which require the ability to lift and maneuver 20 lbs. on a regular basis, and may involve lifting and maneuvering up to 65 lbs.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extreme temperatures.
  • Must be authorized to work in the country without employer sponsorship.
  • Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 Vaccination by date of hire unless already employed by Corvus Airlines Inc. dba Ravn Alaska.
  • Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment DOT drug screen.
  • Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Captains

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ravn Alaska Pilot in Command safely operates Company aircraft according to regulations, as well as established policies and procedures, accepting responsibility for safety of all crewmembers, passengers, and/or cargo on board when the aircraft doors are closed.  The Pilot in Command is accountable to the Chief Pilot for the operation of each flight under their command and works diligently to complete each operation safely and efficiently.  This position is expected to uphold safety while performing flight crew duties and fulfilling the responsibilities expected of a Ravn Alaska employee.  Other responsibilities aligned with Ravn Alaska Core Values include but are not limited to:

  • Upholding safety by ensuring all work is accomplished in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and the Company’s manuals.  For example, confirming that an exterior aircraft inspection is properly performed by a member of the flight crew prior to each flight.
  • Maintaining a strong safety-focused environment by encouraging input from crewmembers and dispatch personnel on all aspects relating to safe operation of the aircraft and performance of crew duties, promoting fundamental Crew Resource Management (CRM) with on-going communications involving all personnel during each active duty period.
  • Assuming responsibility for tasks at outstations, when appropriately trained, to include fueling, bag handling, cargo handling, and deicing, because of our commitment to a successful team effort.
  • Promoting commitment by engaging in courteous and respectful interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates.

  • Maintaining reliability in the operation by ensuring the aircraft is equipped with all required systems and components for its designated operations prior to originating a flight or a series of flights, and remains airworthy until termination of the flights
  • Demonstrating reliability by completing all necessary documentation thoroughly and with care, filing paperwork with the appropriate department(s) as outlined in company policies, ensuring team members have the information needed to perform their duties accordingly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess all current ratings to operate commercial aircraft for a Part 121 operation, including an Airline Transport Pilot certificate;
  • Must have a total of 2500 hours in a fixed wing aircraft, of which 1000 hours will be multi-engine turbine flight time, and 1000 hours total flight time will be air carrier experience;
  • Must have a valid First Class Medical;
  • Must not have a record of any FAA ‘Certificate Action’ or ‘Administrative Action’ within the prior 30 months;
  • Must have a valid US Passport and the ability to in an out of the US, including to Canada;
  • Must be authorized to work in the country without employer sponsorship;

Australian E3 Visa Program through Rishworth Aviation:

We are excited to offer positions on the Dash8 Q100/300 for Captains and First Officers with Ravn Alaska. Type rated and non-type rated position are available.

This position is based in Alaska. Australian Pilots are likely to be eligible for the E3 visa program, allowing you to live and work in the US with your family. Rishworth Aviation will provide support throughout this process.
