Job Description

We are looking for exceptional Multi Engine Flight Instructors (Gloucester) and Single Engine Flight Instructors (Castellon) to join our highly skilled and professional teams at our new training facilities in Gloucester and Castellon.

Responsibilities in the role would include conducting training in accordance with the approved syllabus, and in compliance with the Academy published schedule/programme. You would be expected to comply with all rules and procedures detailed in the Academy Operations Manual and to uphold flight safety in every aspect of training, including monitoring the maintenance condition of the training fleet and reporting any defects to operations.

Responsibilities to the cadets might include ensuring each cadet is appropriately briefed and debriefed following training, and monitoring every assigned cadet’s progress through their training programme. Any training performance problems should be reported to the CFI or designated representative. Skyborne has developed high standards of training and performance and it is the responsibility of the FI’s to ensure these standard are promoted and maintained at all times.

All FI’s will be responsible for maintaining their own license and rating validity and making sure that their personal log book is up-to-date and accurate. Personal responsibility for retention of a valid Class 1 medical is essential.

Finally, all FI’s will be required to support the CFI in the conduct of Academy business at any Academy locations and to conduct any other reasonable duties which may, from time to time, be given by the Head of Training (HT) or CFI.

Qualifications – Multi-Engine Instructor

  1. Minimum of 1000 hours instructional
  2. Minimum 400 hours instructional as ME/IR
  3. Current EASA Commercial Pilot License, including current Class 1 medical
  4. ICAO level 5, preferred ICAO level 6
  5. Ability to work well in a highly structured environment
  6. Team oriented
  7. Result oriented
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  9. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  10. Experience on UK flying training methodology and FNPTII
  11. Preferred night rating

Qualifications – Single-Engine Instructor

  1. FI(A) Rating (Restricted or Unrestricted)
  2. Current EASA Commercial Pilot License, including current Class 1 medical
  3. ICAO level 5, preferred ICAO level 6
  4. Ability to work well in a highly structured environment
  5. Team oriented
  6. Result oriented
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  8. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  9. Experience on UK flying training methodology and FNPTII
  10. Preferred night rating
