Non-Rated & CRJ Rated First Officers:

Job role 
The First Officer (Co-Pilot) works hand in hand with the Line Captain to ensure the safety, security, and proper conduct of flights. He/she deputizes the Captain.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities

  • During flight shall be aware of the Pilot in Command’s intentions and monitor the conduct of the flight at all times.
  • When not flying, the Co-pilot shall immediately advise the Pilot in Command of any deviation from the normal flight operating profile.
  • Shall be directly responsible to the Pilot in Command and do whatever duties are assigned to him by the Pilot in Command.
  • Shall be responsible as part of the flying team to ensure that the flight is conducted efficiently and safely.

  • Cross-culture sensitivity and respect.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, experience)

  • Hold a valid Commercial Pilot License with multiple engine rating.
  • At least 1500 hours total as a pilot.
  • A valid type rating on the CRJ family aircraft is an added advantage.
  • Medical Class 1.
  • No Accident or Incident record. No criminal record.
  • English language proficiency level 4 minimum.
  • Individual assessment for satisfactory ability will be carried out as part of the interview process.
  • Willingness to relocate and be based in Uganda.

Non-Rated & CRJ Rated Captains:

Job role

The Captain will be designated for each flight under the Uganda Airlines Operations. The Captain will be in charge of the safety, security, and conduct of flight while on duty and supervise all actions and activities of other crew members who work on that flight.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities

  • Have authority for the overall management of the entire flight, ensuring the safety and security of the Aircraft and persons on board.
  • Ensure that all operational procedures and checklists are complied with in accordance with the Operations Manual.
  • Ensure that, during flight operations, the entire crew adheres to flight duty limitations.
  • Transportation of any parcels must be in accordance with safety and security procedures.
  • He maintains good CRM, encourages teamwork, and ensures that his crew members receive all information essential for the performance of their tasks.

Competencies

  • Strong team management and customer service orientation and understanding.
  • Results-focused with a bias for action and on-time performance.
  • Ability to understand and work across cultural differences and barriers.
  • Professionalism.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, experience)

  • Hold a valid ATPL and IR.
  • 4000 hours of flying experience ( inclusive 2000 hours jet)
  • 500 hours PIC on CRJ family is an added advantage.
  • Hold a Class 1 Medical.
  • No Accident or Incident record.
  • No criminal record.
  • English language proficiency level 4 minimum.
  • Individual assessments for satisfactory command ability will be carried out as part of the interview process.
  • TRI/TRE Authorization on CRJ family and being a member of an aviation professional body is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to relocate and be based in Uganda.

Non-Rated & Airbus Rated First Officers:

Job role

  • At least 2500 hours total inclusive of 1500 on Jet.
  • Medical Class 1.
  • No Accident or Incident record. No criminal record.
  • English language proficiency level 4 minimum.
  • Individual assessment for satisfactory ability will be carried out as part of the interview process.
  • Airbus experience of 500 hours, last flight within the last 12 months are an added advantage.
  • Willingness to relocate and be based in Uganda.

Non-Rated & Airbus Rated Captains:

  • Individual assessments for satisfactory command ability will be carried out as part of the interview process.
  • TRI/TRE authorization on Airbus family and being a member of an aviation professional body is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to relocate and be based in Uganda
