Virgin Atlantic are currently recruiting Cabin Crew to be based at London Heathrow, however you will also be expected to operate out of Gatwick from time to time.

Salary: Basic salary of £14,178 pro rated; trip pay, plus on board commission
Contract: Fixed term contract

Day to day

You will be working alongside our established award-winning Cabin Crew, sharing your passion and dedication for delivering exceptional customer service.

We will support you in using your unique personality to deliver our shining service, which will bring our brand to life, from greeting our customers on-board to wishing them well as they disembark.

During each flight, you will actively promote our amazing Retail therapy range and work towards a revenue target. Our products are appealing to all and fun to promote so we truly believe in a sale through service approach.

What’s more, you will develop your resilience to deal with the demands of a long-haul lifestyle and instinctive feel for Virgin Atlantic’s service will make every flight something to write home about.

Skills for success

From relaxing on the beach in the Caribbean to shopping in Manhattan or cycling over the Golden Gate Bridge, there’s no shortage of excitement and opportunity for you.

We are seeking people with the below requirements to meet the needs of this role:

  • Previously obtained or willing to obtain a Level 2 qualification in English and Math’s at grades 9-4 (A*- C) or academic equivalent
  • Commitment to undertake a 14 month apprenticeship programme
  • No previous experience as Cabin Crew
  • A real passion for delivering irresistible customer service
  • 18 years of age is the minimum requirement
  • Have an arm reach of 210cm (assessed at assessment stage without shoes)
  • Able to brace with your feet flat on the floor whilst sitting in our jump seat – which is 45cm from the floor (also assessed without shoes)
  • You will have no live criminal convictions or cases pending – including drink-driving convictions
  • Have a valid passport which permits you to travel to the UK
  • As a confident swimmer, you will need to demonstrate that you can swim 25 metres unaided and tread water. This is while putting on and manually inflating a life jacket, this is tested during training. Don’t worry if you can’t swim yet, there is plenty of time to learn before your course.

Training

Are you committed to undertake a rigorous, 14 month apprenticeship training programme? We invest heavily in your career, so when you join us you’ll be taught everything through our intensive but rewarding training programme. After your initial 5 weeks training you will be qualified to operate our aircraft, you will then be invited to share your progress and reflect on your learning and development with your very own coach, who will prepare you to undertake your industry qualification, equivalent to 2 A level passes.

After graduating from your initial 5 week training course, we call this your wings ceremony with your friends and loved ones cheering you on, your smile can be taken sky-high. We are excited to see you put all your fantastic training into practice and flourish. So come along and get onboard.
