BA announce wholesale changes and product improvements

British Airways has announced a £400million upgrade to its club world product.

The airline CEO Alex Cruz has said “We need to deliver what our customers value most, where they value it most.

We need to focus on enhancing premium, offering contemporary service, improved catering and lounges and a consistent experience. In economy where we know price is the driver, we need to offer more seats at lower fares along with giving customers choices”.

Mr Cruz goes on to mention other improvements including biometric boarding gates, first wing in Terminal 5 and the launch of wifi.

BA’s terminal 7 at New York JFK will get a revamp worth $65 million and other US lounges will be upgraded too.

This complements the new club and first lounges that have recently been opened at Gatwick’s south terminal where customers can enjoy panoramic views of the runway and movement areas.

Wifi will be launched this year which will be Europe’s first 4G high speed in-flight network.
