Website AEGEAN

The AEGEAN Pilot Scholarship is currently open for aspiring pilots seeking airline-backed training and a pathway to become a First Officer with AEGEAN or Olympic Air.

Up to 40 candidates will be selected for the 2027 intake. AEGEAN provides financial support covering the majority of training costs, with successful candidates completing an integrated commercial pilot training programme before progressing to airline type-rating training.

AEGEAN Pilot Scholarship – 2027 intake

The programme is aimed at aspiring professional pilots who meet AEGEAN’s nationality, education and language requirements.

Training is scheduled to begin on 11 January 2027 and lasts approximately 18 to 20 months on a full-time basis.

Entry requirements

  • Greek or Cypriot citizenship
  • Born after 1 January 1998
  • Hold a high school diploma

Training programme

The programme provides integrated commercial pilot training, including theoretical and practical flight training.

Training is delivered through AEGEAN’s partner organisations:

  • Global Aviation Academy in Athens
  • Egnatia Aviation Academy in Kavala

After completing the main flying programme, participants undertake aircraft Type Rating training at the AEGEAN | CAE Flight Training Centre.

Financial support

AEGEAN describes the scheme as a scholarship programme and provides financial support covering the majority of the cost of professional pilot training.

The airline states that the total cost of becoming a professional pilot can approach €100,000, and its scholarship programme is designed to make the profession more accessible to successful candidates.

Career with AEGEAN and Olympic Air

Successful candidates who complete the full training programme have the prospect of immediate employment within the flight crews of AEGEAN or Olympic Air.

Participants will complete the appropriate Type Rating for the aircraft they are assigned to operate before beginning their airline flying career.
