Website easyJet / Skyborne
4 October 2026
Skyborne Airline Academy’s website is currently suggesting that applications are open for the easyJet FlightCrew Futures cadet pilot pathway.
The programme is aimed at aspiring pilots with little or no previous flying experience and provides a structured route from ab-initio flight training through to a potential career as an easyJet pilot.
Successful candidates who complete the easyJet recruitment process can receive a conditional offer of employment before beginning their flight training. The £129,000 course fee includes the subsequent easyJet Airbus A320 Type Rating.
Programme Overview
The easyJet FlightCrew Futures Programme is delivered by Skyborne as a UK CAA Integrated ATPL course, with training taking place in both the UK and the United States.
No previous flying experience is required. The programme takes candidates from the beginning of their flight training through the licences and qualifications required to progress towards an airline cockpit.
Training includes:
- ATPL theoretical knowledge training in the UK
- Single-engine flight training and CPL training in Vero Beach, Florida
- Multi-engine Instrument Rating training in the UK
- Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT)
- Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation Course (APS MCC)
- easyJet Airbus A320 Type Rating
Skyborne advises that its Integrated ATPL training takes approximately 18 months to complete, followed by further airline training and the Airbus A320 Type Rating.
Conditional easyJet Job Offer
One of the main attractions of the programme is the opportunity to secure a conditional offer of employment with easyJet before starting flight training.
Candidates must successfully complete the recruitment and assessment process before receiving the conditional offer. They will then need to successfully complete their flight training and meet the required airline standards before progressing to easyJet.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old on the first day of training
- Hold a valid passport providing unrestricted right to live and work in the UK
- Have at least five GCSEs or equivalent at Grade 4 or above
- GCSE subjects must include Maths, Science and English Language
- Be fluent in written and spoken English
- Be capable of obtaining at least ICAO English Level 4 or equivalent
- Hold a valid unrestricted UK CAA Class 1 Medical before commencing training
- Hold the required FAA Class 3 Medical before commencing training in the United States
Applicants who have already completed some previous flight training can still apply, although successful candidates are required to complete the full Skyborne Integrated ATPL programme.
Training Locations
The programme combines training at Skyborne facilities in the UK and United States.
- Theoretical knowledge: Gloucestershire Airport or Bournemouth Airport, UK
- Single-engine and CPL training: Vero Beach, Florida, USA
- Multi-engine Instrument Rating: Gloucestershire or Bournemouth, UK
- Advanced UPRT: Gloucestershire, UK

Accommodation for the training programme is included on a self-catering basis, although cadets should budget separately for day-to-day living expenses.
Training Cost
The current cost of the easyJet FlightCrew Futures Programme is £129,000.
This includes the easyJet Airbus A320 Type Rating and accommodation during the training programme. Payments are made in instalments during training rather than being required as one upfront payment.
An optional BSc (Hons) degree through the University of West London is also available at additional cost.
Selection Process
The recruitment process initially takes place through Skyborne. Applicants register their interest before receiving an application which is screened against the programme entry requirements.
The selection process includes:
- Initial application screening
- Online psychometric assessments
