Flight Instructors:

Overview:

To provide flight, simulator and ground instruction in accordance with “L3 – Commercial Training Solutions – Airline Academy” approved Training Manuals for the Integrated or Modular flight training courses.

Core duties will involve, but not limited to:

• Uphold flight safety in every aspect of training and encourage a ‘just culture’ amongst colleagues and trainees
• Conduct each training event in accordance with the approved syllabus, and in compliance with the Academy published schedule/programme
• Ensure each trainee is properly briefed and prepared for each training event, and conduct a debrief after completion of the event
• Complete trainee reports promptly after every training event
• Monitor every assigned trainee’s progress, and report any training performance problems to the CFI or designated representative
• Foster professionalism amongst all trainees
• Ensure the Academy’s standards are promoted and maintained throughout training
• Monitor the maintenance condition of the training fleet and report any defects to operations as soon as possible
• Observe the highest standard of professionalism in every aspect of this role
• Maintain personal license and rating validities
• Retain a valid Class 1 medical. Inform the DHT/CFI promptly if loss of medical occurs
• Maintain an accurate and true copy of a personal flying logbook
• Comply with all rules and procedures detailed in the Academy Operations Manual
• Attend administration, standardization and periodic/annual training as required by the CFI
• Support the CFI and DCFIs in the conduct of Academy business at Bournemouth or any other Academy satellite site
• Recommend curriculum changes or courseware improvements
• Conduct any other reasonable duties which may, from time to time, be given by the Head of Training (HT), CFI or DCFI

Essential skills and experience:

• Flight instructional experience at ab-initio level:
• Experienced in delivering VFR and/or IFR training on the SEP and/or MEP aircraft
• A good standard piloting and instructional skills
• Flexibility to adapt learning/teaching styles and to differentiate between trainees
• Strong customer care skills
• Knowledge of EASA regulations
• Self-motivated, confident and enthusiastic
• Good team player with strong interpersonal skills
• International outlook, ability to deal comfortably with various cultures is preferred

Qualifications requirements:

• Minimum EASA CPL/IR
• Unrestricted FI Rating
• Class 1 medical
• Minimum 200 FI hours for VFR and 600 hours for IFR on SEP or MEP
• Minimum ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4

Additional Information:

Although previous experience instructing on an integrated flying training course is desirable, standardisation training will be given during the Induction programme.

SFI/TRIs and SFE/TREs A320/330 and B737/787 (multiple positions)

Location: Training Centers – Southampton and London Gatwick and London Heathrow

We are inviting applications from committed and experienced SFI/TRIs and SFE/TREs A320/330 and B737/787 who have a passion for delivering high quality training to our cadets and qualified pilots. We are delighted to offer a freelance contract to suitable applicants who aspire to be part of our growth strategy.

Core duties will involve, but not be limited to:

• To conduct Airline Training simulator training  the highest standards in accordance with our ATO OPS manual and relevant client specific procedures, under the direction and supervision of the appropriate Training Manager, Airline Training

• When suitably qualified, to support the relevant Training Manager in the standardization of  Instructors by conducting standards checks and Instructor development support and feedback

• To maintain and deliver our exceptional standard of  reporting, assessment and recording

• To conduct any other assigned duties or projects as required under the supervision of the relevant Training Manager.

Essential qualification, skills and experience:

The successful applicant will hold a UK EASA  A320/330 or B737 TRI (SFI) or  A320/330 or B737 TRI/TRE (SFIs/SFEs) qualification and a valid A320 or B737 type rating.
Preference will be given to applicants with a proven track record of airline training experience (as above).

Additional information:

Ideally, we would like a commitment of at least six days per month.

Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (multiple positions)

Location: Training Centers – Coventry and Southampton, UK and Ponte de Sôr, Portugal

As a result of L3 Commercial Training Solutions continued worldwide growth we are looking for experienced Theoretical Knowledge Instructors to join our ATPL Ground School team.

Core duties will involve, but not be limited to: 

 

• To teach a range of EASA ATPL technical subjects
• To prepare and update EASA ATPL course materials as required
• To assess and act as an internal moderator in appropriate subject areas
• To prepare, invigilate and moderate appropriate EASA ATPL Theoretical Knowledge exams
• To monitor and report on trainee progress
• To provide guidance and support to individual trainees
• To maintain accurate course records

Essential skills and experience:

 

• Ability to multi task and work under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact well with trainees
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and carry out assignments to completion
• International outlook with the ability to deal comfortably with various cultures
• Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational and customer service skills
• Capacity to deal with people in a polite and friendly manner

Subjects delivered under the EASA ATPL syllabus:

 

• Air Law
• Aircraft general knowledge (Power plants, systems, electrics)
• Aircraft general knowledge (Instruments and automatic systems)
• Aircraft performance
• Principles of flight
• Flight planning
• General navigation
• Radio navigation
• Meteorology
• Operational procedures
• Mass and balance
• Communications
• Human performance and limitations

You will, in time, be expected to deliver no less than three of the above subjects in agreement with the Training Manager.

Qualification and educational requirements:

 

• Instructional experience, ideally in the ATPL syllabus, or in the aviation industry
• Aviation experience, ideally as a commercial or military Pilot, Air Traffic Control or Ground Operations, Aeronautical Engineer or Meteorologist
• Minimum ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4
