Airbus Rated First Officers

Job Description include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for Safety and Security of the aircraft and passengers and Cargo on board, as far as their duties are concerned; and in the absence of the Commander for any reason.
  • Maintain familiarity with Etihad’s Operations Manual as are necessary to fulfil their function both professionally and safely.
  • Assist the commander as requested, concerning any administrative duties in relation to the flight.
  • Support the Commander in the maintenance of a proper standard of crew discipline, conduct and personal appearance.
  • Carrying out such duties concerning the flight in accordance with Etihad’s operating policies and procedures, as are allocated to him by the Commander.
  • Confirming the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check upon both the geographical position of the aircraft ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance.
  • Conducting the flight in compliance with the current flight plan, SOPs and the Commander’s instructions when the Commander is not at the controls, and to subsequently notify the Commander of any change to the current flight plan, ATC or geographical position upon their return.
  • Providing such advice, information and assistance without hesitation if required, to the Commander as may contribute favorably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
  • Maintaining a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways at all times.
  • In the event of Commander incapacitation, the highest ranking Co-Pilot assigned to the flight shall assume command.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2500 hours total flying time.
  • A minimum of 1500 hours on multi crew, glass cockpit (1) or high-performance military jet.
  • A minimum of 1000 hours should be on one of the following: A330, A340, A350 or A380.
  • Type rating on any Airbus FBW should be valid for a minimum of 2 months at the time of joining.
  • ICAO current and unrestricted ATPL. We do not accept Frozen ATPL unless held by a UAE citizen.
  • Flown any Airbus FBW within the last 12 months.
  • Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical.
  • Maximum age limit is 50 years old.
  • English Language Fluency (written and verbal) Level 4 or better.
  • In case of hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% of the total hours shall be counted towards the required minimums.

(1) Glass Cockpit: aircraft with a FMS coupled to APFDS


Salary & Benefits

Fixed pay of AED 26,000 per month.

Flight duty allowance:

– 1-6 years of service: AED 40 per block hour

– 7-10 years of service: AED 56 per block hour

Meal allowance during layovers as per the following rates:

Middle East/ GCC/ Sub Continent AED 12 per hour
Asia/ Far East AED 15 per hour
Africa/ Australasia AED 18 per hour
Europe/ Americas AED 23 per hour

 

Housing allowance up to AED 160000 per year.

Education allowance of AED 40000 for primary and AED 55000 for secondary up to 3 children.

Airbus Rated Captains

Job Description include (but are not limited to):

  • Being responsible for the safety and security of all crew members, passengers and cargo on board.
  • Being responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft from the moment the aircraft is first ready to move for the purpose of taxiing prior to take-off until the moment it finally comes to rest at the end of the flight and the engine(s) used as primary propulsion units are shut down.
  • Familiarising themselves with all applicable regulations, documentation and briefing materials for the intended route of flight, destination and alternate airfields. Additionally, the Commander shall familiarise themselves with both oxygen escape routes and terrain escape routes.
  • Having authority to give all commands he deems necessary for the purpose of securing the safety of the aircraft and of persons or property carried therein.
  • Having authority to disembark any person, or any part of the cargo, which, in his opinion, may represent a potential hazard to the safety of the aircraft or its occupants.
  • Ensuring that all crew comply with all operational checklists prior to, during and after all phases of flight operations, and in abnormal and emergency situations.
  • Ensuring the proper implementation and application of the manufacture provided procedures and checklist approved for use by Etihad Airways.
  • The Commander or the pilot to whom conduct of the flight has been delegated shall, in an emergency situation that requires immediate decision and action, take any action they consider necessary under the circumstances. In such cases, they may deviate from rules, operational procedures and methods in the interest of safety.
  • Operating the aircraft within the scope of all the Operational Manuals.
  • Taking all reasonable measures to ensure that all persons carried in the aircraft obey all lawful commands given by themselves for the purpose of securing the safety of the aircraft and of persons or property carried therein.
  • Operating efficiently in accordance with company fuel policy.
  • Ensuring On time Performance.
  • Ensuring Customer awareness.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7000 hours total flying time.
  • A minimum of 2500 PIC hours on multi crew, glass cockpit (1) jet aircraft.
  • A minimum of 2000 PIC hours on any Airbus wide-body FBW.
  • Type rating on any Airbus FBW should be valid for a minimum of 2 months at the time of joining.
  • Unrestricted and current ICAO ATPL.
  • Flown any Airbus FBW within the last 12 months.
  • Unrestricted and current Class 1 medical.
  • Must not have attained the age of 59 years old upon the date of joining.
  • Current TRE/TRI is an advantage.
  • English Language Fluency ( written and verbal ) Level 4 or better.
  • In case of hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% of the total hours shall be counted towards the required minimums.(1) Glass Cockpit: aircraft with a FMS coupled to APFDS

Salary & Benefits

Starting salary of AED 35200 per month for Captains.

Flight duty allowance:

– 1-6 years of service: AED 50 per block hour

– 7-10 years of service: AED 80 per block hour

Meal allowance during layovers as per the following rates:

 

Middle East/ GCC/ Sub Continent AED 12 per hour
Asia/ Far East AED 15 per hour
Africa/ Australasia AED 18 per hour
Europe/ Americas AED 23 per hour
