The final check
Lauren’s eye followed the curve of the Dreamliner’s wing as it spiralled above her. It was a privilege to admire such great design from close up. ‘It’s a thing of beauty,’ she thought to herself. In less than an hour, she would experience its power first-hand.
Her career had come so far. She’d flown A320s and A330s across Australia and overseas. She’d achieved accreditation to fly in to Queenstown – one of the most challenging and beautiful airports to fly in to anywhere. And now here she was, about to settle in to the cockpit of the 787 – one of the most technologically advanced aircraft in the world. Not many pilots get those opportunities – she had Jetstar’s amazing growth to thank for that.
