To be eligible to apply for the role of First Officer with Jetstar, you are required to meet all of our minimum criteria as listed below.  Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements at the time of application will not be progressed through the recruitment process, and you will need to apply during a later campaign.

You’ll have:

  • Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence (Part 61) or an Australian CPL with passes in all Australian ATPL subjects
  • Australian Multi-Engine Aeroplane Instrument Rating with 2D and 3D endorsements
  • Current CASA Class 1 medical
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 6
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • A current passport with unrestricted access to all Jetstar ports of call with at least 12 months validity
  • Experience in a multi-crew operation or successful completion of a multi-crew cooperation course
  • Hold an Aviation Security Identification card

You will also meet our minimum criteria of: 

  • 1500 hours total aeronautical experience
  • 500 hours PIC or FO, on multi-engine aeroplane
  • 250 hours PIC time of which 150 hours may be PICUS

Our selection process will commence immediately with assessments being held from November, and placements will be allocated from 2020 onwards.  Bases will be known closer to placement date and may include any of the Jetstar bases within Australia.
