Recruiting Cadet pilots onto Ab Inito programme as well as Direct Entry Second Officers and Direct Entry First Officers.

You no longer need to be a Singapore National. All can apply.

Starting your career as either an ab initio cadet pilot or direct entry second officer / first officer, you will undergo a rigorous training program to equip yourself with the highest flying standards.

Upon successful completion of training, you will work your way through the ranks. If you have the potential, you will have an opportunity to progress as a Captain, and further develop your skills in the Technical, Training or Management track.

Minimum Requirements:

Ab Initio Cadet Pilots

  • Minimum Polytechnic Diploma or Degree. In addition, you must demonstrate proficiency in English, Mathematics and Science, preferably Physics (with at least credits in GCE ‘O’ levels or its equivalent)
  • For candidates without credits in English at GCE ‘O’ Levels or its equivalent, you must produce additional proof of English proficiency:
    o IELTS – Minimum Band 7 (out of 9); or
    o TOEFL – Minimum score: Computer based – 250, Paper Version – 600; or
    o Certificate of Completion for English Language Course
  • Myopia of not more than 600 degrees and astigmatism of not more than 200 degrees

Direct Entry Second Officers

  • Holds a CPL or Frozen ATPL recognized by CAAS
  • Minimum GCE ‘A’ level, Polytechnic Diploma or Degree. In addition, you must be proficient in English, Mathematics and Science, preferably Physics (with at least credits in GCE ‘O’ level or its equivalent)
  • Demonstrate the ability to speak and understand English with ICAO English Level 6
  • Myopia of not more than 600 degrees and astigmatism of not more than 200 degrees
  • Medically fit – must possess valid certificate of Medical Assessment (recognised or can be validated by CAAS)

Direct Entry First Officers

  • Holds a valid ATPL recognized by CAAS
  • Minimum 1500 total flying hours on commercial jet aircraft. Preference will be given to applicants with previous flight experience on a commercial aircraft equipped with glass cockpit technology, including FMS
  • Must possess a valid certificate for the following:
    o Class 1 Medical (recognized or can be validated by CAAS)
    o ICAO English Level 5 or above
    o Certificate of Test – Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
  • Myopia of not more than 600 degrees and astigmatism of not more than 200 degrees per eye

Selection Process:

All interviews will be held in Singapore. Applicants undergo five stages comprising online application, preliminary interview, aptitude test, final interview with senior management as well as a medical check-up.

Training:

Ab Initio Cadet Pilot

Successful candidates will undergo training to acquire either an Airline Transport Pilot’s License (ATPL) with Instrument Rating (IR) or a Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL) at Singapore Flying College and overseas.

Direct Entry Second Officers

Successful candidates will be trained to acquire an Aircraft Type Rating. Upon successful completion, you will undergo further training to become a First Officer.

Direct Entry First Officer:

Where applicable, successful candidates will be trained to acquire an Aircraft Type Rating.
