TUI Non-Type Rated Pilot opportunities are currently available for experienced First Officers to join the airline’s Boeing 737 operation at UK bases.
The permanent role is aimed at pilots who are not currently B737 type rated but who already meet the experience requirements for Zero Flight Time Training. Successful applicants will join TUI’s UK pilot community, with their operating base confirmed at the point of offer.
TUI Non-Type Rated Pilot opportunity
As a First Officer, you will operate across TUI’s holiday network while developing your experience alongside experienced Captains. TUI also offers opportunities for progression both on the flight deck and through additional roles within the airline.
Experience requirements
Applicants must be eligible for Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT). This requires either:
- A minimum of 500 hours flight time on qualifying multi-pilot aircraft; or
- A minimum of 100 route sectors on qualifying multi-pilot aircraft.
The qualifying experience must be on an appropriate multi-pilot turbojet or larger multi-pilot turboprop aircraft meeting the relevant regulatory criteria.
Licence and training requirements
- Unrestricted and valid UK CAA CPL with ATPL theory credits
- Valid UK CAA Class 1 Medical
- Minimum ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4
- Completed MCC course
- Completed Advanced UPRT
- Valid passport permitting unrestricted worldwide travel
- Unrestricted right to live and work in the UK

Working pattern and base
TUI currently offers full-time working during the summer period and part-time working during winter, giving a total of 13 weeks off across the year. Pilots may also be able to bid for some winter time off.
The operating base is confirmed at the point of offer. Applicants must be able to report to their home base within a maximum of 90 minutes when on standby duty. TUI advises that rosters can vary significantly and commuting contracts are not offered.

Additional requirements
Applicants must be able to pass the required pre-employment and airport-security checks. TUI also specifies a minimum height of 1.58 metres and the ability to swim at least 25 metres.
