Helicentre Aviation is proud to be partnered with Bristow Helicopters to select, train and supply world-class, industry-ready helicopter pilots directly into Oil and Gas and Search and Rescue careers. Four successful cadets will embark on a brand new career to fly as Co-Pilots at one of Bristow’s UK bases.

The application window for the Bristow Cadet Programme opens on 1st June and will remain open until 30th June. Bristow seeks and supports the highest-calibre candidates for its UK Oil and Gas Operations, and provides a direct route into Search and Rescue Pilot Careers. About the Programme

Four cadets will be selected jointly by Bristow Helicopters and Helicentre Aviation, and they will be provided with funding for the training elements of their Commercial Helicopter Pilot licence and Instrument Rating. Initial training up to IR will be delivered by Helicentre Aviation and the Cadets will go on to complete their type rating and line training with Bristow. Successful completion will lead to employment as a First Officer with one of the most prestigious helicopter operators in the world. Candidates will be bonded for the value of their training for a period of six years, during which they will be employed by Bristow.

Entry Requirements


Applicants must :

  • Have the right to work and reside in the UK
  • Be able to attend full-time training in Leicester for a minimum of 15 months from September
  • Obtain and maintain a UK Class One Flight Crew medical certificate
  • Expect to relocate as required on completion of training to a Bristow operating base

Medical Requirements


You must hold a current and valid Class One UK Flight Crew Medical Certificate (at your own cost) before training commences.

We strongly recommend that you book and successfully obtain your Class One Medical Certificate without delay, as demand for medical appointments can be high and there may be significant wait times which could result in you being withdrawn from the programme should the medical not be issued in time. Please note there are only four UK-based Aeromedical Centres that can issue this certificate.

Age Restrictions

You must be over 18 years of age on 1st September 2021.

 

Language Proficiency

You must be fluent in English – both written and spoken. You must be able to demonstrate fluency to a minimum of ICAO English Language Level 5 standard. Those applicants whose first language is English will be assessed during training and typically awarded ICAO English Language Level 6. Non-native speakers will need to obtain a certificate of language proficiency.

The Selection Process

  • Phase 1: Application Window Open (1st June – 30th June 2021)
  • Phase 2: Initial Interview, if selected (June / July 2021)
  • Phase 3: Final Interviews and Selection (week commencing 26th July 2021)
If you are successful in passing phase 1, you will be invited to participate in an interview. Selected candidates will be chosen to attend final selection. Interviews / selection take place at Helicentre Aviation, Leicester Airport, Gartree Road, Leicester, LE2 2FG.
